I regularly spend time walking my dog along the local canal paths. I love the different varieties of canal boats, particularly the ones that are covered in plants. They are all so full of individual character. 
 
Dry point involves scratching lines into a metal or plastic plate with a sharp tool before applying ink. Tonal effect and additional detail are created by choosing how much ink is removed before printing. The scratched marks are printed via an etching press. It is a useful method for a sketchy, drawing style of printing. I have a small table top etching press that enables me to produce drypoint etchings at home.
 
Due to the hand printed nature of the printing process small variations can occur in each layer making each print a unique piece of artwork.
